Description
The cultivation of coffee was introduced to the land in 1773. Today, more that 3 centuries later, this tropical country of about 12 million inhabitants is considered to be one of the best in the World. The thriving plantations are found at the foot of the Sierra de los Cuchumatanes, the highest non-volcanic mountain range in Central America and the most suitable for coffee growing. The coffee of the “Maya” has an unmistakable flavour characterised by its balanced and typically acid nature.
